Accessibility

What the site does to be usable by as many people as possible, and where it still falls short.

The site

  • Every page can be used with a keyboard, and starts with a "Skip to the content" link.
  • Pages are written as real text, with headings and descriptions for every game, so screen readers can read them.
  • Text sizes follow your browser's zoom, and pages fit phone screens without scrolling sideways.
  • Adverts never play sound and never cover a game while it is being played.

The games

  • Every game can be paused, usually with P or Esc.
  • The controls for each game are listed on its page, under the game, before you start.
  • Most of the small games work with a single button, a mouse or a touch screen.
  • Games are visual and most need sight to play. The bigger 3D games need a reasonably recent computer; on slower machines they lower their own detail.
