First-person voxel parkour in a painted sky. Jump, build your own blocks across gaps and reach the golden beacon in 12 courses, plus a sandbox.
First-person parkour over block courses floating in a painted sky. Hop across gaps, balance along beams, bounce on pads, slide on ice, cross lava stepping stones and ride moving lifts to the golden beacon at the end of each course. Some gaps can only be crossed by building: you get a limited number of clay blocks per course to place and take back.

Climb a giant floating tower of junk into a hazy, dreamy sky and ring the bell at the top. Falling costs height, not lives.
A third-person climbing game up a huge tower of floating junk, into a soft, hazy sky. Jump between crates, pipes, laundry lines and books through six zones, and ring the Bell of Stillness at the very top. There are no lives: if you fall, you drop back down into the clouds, and you return to your pin or the start.

A ship is going down with people trapped inside. Swim into the wreck, hook them onto your air line and tow them out before anyone's air runs out.
Every mission a ship is sinking, and its passengers are trapped in air pockets in the flooded rooms. You are the rescue diver: find a hole in the hull, crank hatches open, cut through debris, clip your spare air line onto each survivor and tow them out to the rescue bell or the surface. Your tank drains the whole time, each pocket's air runs low as the wreck tilts and sinks, and a survivor whose room floods can only hold their breath for nine seconds.

Chop, mine and craft your way up from bare fists to the Shadowbane, then pay to build the bridge to the Shadow King's castle.
You are a tiny knight on a big island. In the middle, a castle sits on a lake, swallowed by shadow, and the only way across is a bridge that Foreman Bram builds in five stages, if you can pay for them. Chop trees and mine rock and iron, craft better swords, axes, pickaxes, shields, armour and a bow at the workbench, and push out through the Meadow, Whisperwood, the Pebble Hills and the Hollow Graves, where night brings out zombies and bats.

Hatch chibi monsters from eggs, then fight wild ones in real time with WASD and three abilities.
Pick a free starter, Pipkin, Sproutle or Bubbit, and take it into a field arena to fight wild monsters in real time. You move with WASD, aim with the mouse, fire three abilities on J, K and L, and dodge with Space. A red circle on the ground means an attack is about to land there, and a red ! over a foe means a big one is coming. Wins pay coins and XP: coins buy eggs in the shop, and XP levels your monster, teaches it new moves and evolves it into a bigger form.

A wizard, a spellbook and ten floors of dungeon. Read every spellbook you find and build a run that melts the Hollow Crown.
You are a wizard working down through nine floors of dungeon to a throne room at the bottom. Each floor is generated fresh: rooms seal shut when you walk in and only open when every monster is dead, and most attacks are drawn on the floor first as a red shape, so you get the chance to dodge. Slimes split, goblins charge, skeleton archers aim, ghosts teleport and fire homing orbs, knights hide behind shields and spiders leap at you.

Keep a tiny island: tie up the trading boats, light them in at night, and grow a leaky tent into a cottage.
You keep a small island with a campfire, a wooden dock and a striped lighthouse out on its own islet. Chop trees for wood, fish off the dock for supper, and pick up clams and shells off the wet sand when the tide goes out - it comes back twice a day and takes whatever you left. Three trading boats sail in by day, and each one pays extra for something: fish, shells or wood. At night they wait out at sea, and you climb the lighthouse and lead them past the rocks with the beam.

An N64 dungeon crawler: four levels, three classes, and a black dragon at the end.
A forest between the cliffs, a mine shaft, a frozen mountain that actually climbs, and a ledge on a black cliff - then the dragon that took the kingdom. Knight, archer or wizard, told in cutscenes, with every enemy wind-up telegraphed on the ground before it lands. Plug in an N64 controller and that works too.
